21. Explain the significance of the first four stanzas of “Red Riding Hood.”
The first four stanzas of this tale, Sexton describes how society is full of decievers, like the wolf. In the first stanza, the author explains how a woman is about to meet her lover in a parking lot in which I think she is having an affair with. This "suburban matron" is a deceiver. In the second stanza, she starts it off by introducing two women who alledgedly rips off an old lady and steal all her money at the end. The wolf is indeed a deciver himself. He dresses himself as a different person and decieves little red riding hood to eat her up. Our world is full of decievers and is very important to realize how there are many people who want to just benefit themselves by being a "wolf".
